Spiritual    

At Cheadle Catholic Infant School the Catholic life of the school underpins and supports everything that we do. Christ is central to our school life. In addition to RE lessons there are frequent opportunities for organised and spontaneous prayer during the school day:

Moral
  • Consistent approach of all staff to all members of school community models high expectations regarding behaviour and conduct towards others
  • Regular opportunities for class circle time allow teachers to explore any relevant issues with their class
  • Positive reward system :- Golden Rules, Class Tokens, Stars of the Week, Good Behaviour Awards & teams within classes

Social
  • The whole Catholic ethos of Cheadle Catholic Infant School  is about developing the whole child, and helping children understand how they have an important part to contribute to society as a whole
  • In Early Years, PSED is a fundamental part of the curriculum and the aim is to ensure pupils are socially ready for the more formal curriculum of Key Stage 1
  • Regular ’Thumbs Up’ mornings and assemblies build relationships between home and school
  • We have strong links with our three  local parishes
  • Trips within the local area or further afield build a sense of community e.g. walks to Bruntwood Park, trips to Bramhall Hall, Styal Mill, Cheadle Hulme Library, fire brigade, dentist and school nurse visits in
  • Leadership at all levels within the school: pupils may be a class monitor, a member of the school council, an eco warrior, sports ambassador or member of the faith council
  • Pupils regularly show awards in assemblies
  • School council organise at least one fundraising event per year e.g. a cake sale
  • We hold regular charity events such as, Red Nose Day, Children in Need, Christmas Jumper Day, CAFOD
Cultural
  • At Cheadle Catholic Infant School we celebrate similarities and differences between people of the world
  • All subjects explore significant people and places in the world
  • Active promotion of tolerance and acceptance in school assemblies and events
  • Celebration of Current Events (eg Commonwealth Games, Olympics, Royal Wedding, Centenary of end of WW1)
  • Celebration Assemblies
  • Advent, Lenten services
  • Recognition of important religious festivals such as Chinese New Year, Diwali, Hannukah
  • Exploring other countries through topic work & Mission Together
