Admissions Policy 2020-2021

Admission Arrangements.

Cheadle Catholic Infant School is a happy school. It is a thriving and forward looking school community, which endeavours to live up to its Mission Statement and the needs of the wider community. Currently the majority of children admitted to the school are baptised Catholics but we also welcome non-Catholic children into our school. The school sees its responsibility as the facilitator of much of the child’s faith development and right from start parents are encourages and supported in developing their distinctive role. The school’s reputation rests on its commitment to the nurturing and development of the Catholic Faith, in all our children and the commitment to obtain maximum realisation of the individual talents and aptitude that each child possesses
Cheadle Catholic Infant is situated in the Diocese of Shrewsbury and is maintained by Stockport Local Authority. As a Voluntary Aided School, the Governing Body is the Admissions Authority and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admissions. For the school year commencing September 2020 and 2021, the Governing Body has set its admissions number at 90 for reception and 40  nursery places (32  part time and 8 full time.)
Reception 
Children are admitted into Reception Classes in the September after their fourth birthday. Ninety places will be available for the reception age group in 2020 and 2021 academic year. Children transfer to Cheadle Catholic Junior School at the end of the school year in which they attain their seventh birthday. 
Nursery 
Children are admitted to nursery the academic year they would turn 4.  The school is able to offer 15 hours a week for 32 children and 30 hours a week for 8 children. Sixteen  places will be available for the beginning of the week (N1), a further sixteen places are available for the end of the week (N2) and 8 full time places are available for children who qualify for 30 hours.

Session times are:  
* N1 sessions: Monday – Tuesday 9am-3.15pm, Wednesday 9am-11.30am 
* N2 sessions: Wednesday 12.45-3.15pm, Thursday- Friday 9am-3.15pm 

* Full time sessions Monday-Friday  9am-3.15pm
Applications for September 2020.
All applications for a reception school place must be completed on-line direct to Stockport Local Authority by 15th January 2020. 
All applications for a nursery place must be completed on-line direct to Stockport Local Authority by 31st March 2020.
